Former Arsenal striker Charlie Nicholas believes that the signing of Alexandre Lacazette is a "big statement of intent" from the Gunners and that the striker is "perfect" for Arsenal.
The French international completed his move from Lyon on Wednesday and former Arsenal man Nicholas believes the deal will be good for both parties.
In an interview with 'Sky Sports News HQ', Nicholas said of Lacazette: "He is at a prime age now to look to hit the ground running at Arsenal. They should have tried to get him three years ago."
"Arsenal needed a guy who's intelligent, his movement is good, he's got good speed and he doesn't always have to go and be an old-fashioned number nine.
"He will want to try and improve on his own reputation. I really do think he is a perfect fit."
Lacazette joins Arsenal off the back of an incredible season, during which he scored 37 goals in 45 goals in all competitions for Lyon, with 28 in 30 in Ligue 1.
