According to reports coming out on Sunday morning, Manchester United could try to tempt Chelsea by offering Anthony Martial in exchange for Willian
Willian has been continuously linked with a move away from Chelsea this summer, while Martial's relationship with Jose Mourinho is at an all time low.
According to the 'Mirror', both sides have put the same €75million valuation on their players, meaning a straight swap deal could be on the cards.
However, after a move to Barcelona broke down, Willian has announced that he is happy to stay at Chelsea. In addition, new boss Maurizio Sarri is keen to work with the Brazilianand could offer him more game time than Antonio Conte ever did.
That being said, Martial is considerably younger, and the pacy winger could be just the player Sarri needs as he looks to replicate the style of play he put in place at Napoli. Furthermore, Willian would be keen on a reunion with Jose Mourinho - with the club imploding around him in the final days before his acrimonious exit from Chelsea, Willian was one of the few players to support the Portuguese manager.
Both players have risked the wrath of their managers in preseason. Willian arrived back late from the World Cup, citing an expired passport at the problem, while Martial left Manchester United's USA tour to attend the birth of his son and was late to get back to the squad. With relations this fraught, a move could be the ideal solution for all parties.
